Welcome to the Illinois High School Democrats! We are a youth political organization fighting for progressive causes in Illinois. As part of the High School Democrats of America, we work to elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot and champion policies that serve all Americans.

You may be wondering: What impact can I have as an ordinary young American? What if I’m not even eligible to vote yet? Who cares about my voice?

The truth is, youth political power is stronger than ever before. Both parties have appealed to our generation to create their visions for the future. Across our nation, young progressives have championed causes like gun control, climate change action, and ethnic diversity. We’ve lobbied directly to our elected officials and gained significant media attention for our advocacy. Together, our voices are too strong to be ignored any longer.

This election year, we are faced with a consequential choice. The Republican agenda speaks for itself: Project 2025 will reverse decades of progress, take away your rights, and threaten the very foundations of our democracy. But there’s a different path. We believe in hope, unity, and freedom. That’s what the Democratic Party stands for.

National change begins at the grassroots level. It takes young people like you to step up and make a difference. We’re excited to see what we can accomplish this year. Are you ready to bring the fight for democracy to your community?
